UNION Insurance Group sponsors NASCAR Driver Renee Dupuis, No. 90

For the third season in a row, UNION Insurance Group continues our sponsorship of the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour Team race car driven by Renee Dupuis. With common threads including a love for car racing and both being proud members of the International Brotherhood of the Boilermakers, we couldn’t be happier to be on board for another season.

For 8 years, Renee has competed – as the lone female – with NASCAR’s ultra-competitive Whelen Modified Tour. For the uninitiated, NASCAR’s impressive WMT cars are 2,650 pound, open-wheeled machines producing in excess of 600 ground-pounding horsepower. Highlighting the annual schedule, in addition to several regional venues, our team will compete at big-league facilities like New Hampshire, Martinsville and Bristol Motor Speedways. In the 25 year history of the Tour, Renee is the only woman to earn front row starting positions and top-ten finishes.

Employed as a third generation Boilermaker, Renee continues to honor her family’s proud union tradition on staff at the International Brotherhood of Boilermakers Northeast Area Apprenticeship Program. Whether you take in a race with us out at the track, or monitor the progress of the UNION Insurance Group No. 90 machine progress from the sidelines, you are considered part of our team. Go Renee!. UNION Insurance Group signs on as Patron Sponsor for ‘Shoot For A Cure’

UIG has come on board as a proud patron sponsor for the 2010 Shoot For A Cure. This organization raises money for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society and the MS Society by hosting sporting clay shooting events.

Last year the event raised over $210,000 and introduced 822 new shooters to the fun and competition of sporting clays shooting. Over 90,420 rounds of ammo were shot at approximate 100,000 targets.

The 2010 fundraising goal is $250,000 for shoots to be held in 9 cities throughout the country. See below for shoot schedule or visit www.shootforacure.us to reserve your spot today.

Shoot For A Cure will also be featured on the UIG sponsored Whelen Series NASCAR race car (No.90) driven by Renee Dupuis. Together, we hope to increase awareness and exceed our fundraising goal for this worthy cause.
